Hello World!

From this site you can find news and information about the BioGeo-modelling group of University of Helsinki.

In this (unofficial) group there are  PhD Students,  Post docs and MSc students. We all work under supervision of Professor Miska Luoto. We work at the Department of Geosciences and Geography, at the Division of Biogeoscience.

Most of our current work is located in the Fennoscandian high-latitudes (69 – 70°N), in Finland and Norway. We work with geospatial modelling of various (bio)geographical processes, such as biodiversity, species distributions, aboveground biomass, snow distribution,  and soil properties.  We also work with climate and weather data. Our general aim is to improve the understanding of these processes and their relationships under changing climate.

This site is still under construction, but you will find more material in the near future from our work.
