Nordic Network for the Science of Science

The workshop series aims at creating an interdisciplinary, internationally recognized Nordic research network in the science of science. Science of science (aka metascience) is an emerging research area bringing together scholars from the social sciences, humanities and computational sciences. Researchers working in this field leverage various sources of data about scientific publications and scientific networks to generate new insights into scientific creativity, collaboration, innovation, and impact.

The first workshop (June 2022) will be organized by the Centre for Philosophy of Social Science (TINT) in Helsinki and takes up the topic of diversity in science. The second workshop (December 2022) will take place at the Swedish Institute at Athens and it focuses on the use of diverse methods in the science of science interdisciplinarity. The third workshop (Spring 2023), on interdisciplinarity, will be hosted by the Danish Institute of Advanced Studies (DIAS), Odense .

The Nordic Network for the Science of Science is organized by Pantelis Analytis (Danish Institute of Advanced Studies, University of Southern Denmark), Jacob Habinek (The Institute for Analytical Sociology, Linköping University), and Samuli Reijula (TINT/Theoretical Philosophy, University of Helsinki).

The workshops are funded by The Joint Committee for Nordic research councils in the Humanities and Social Sciences (NOS-HS)
