Two awards for ESE researchers

 Juhani Kivimäki and Mikko Raatikainen were recently awarded for their research. 

Juhani Kivimäki received an award for the best master’s thesis of the year 2023 in Computer Science in Finland from the Finnish Society for Computer Science with the title “Uncertainty Estimation with Calibrated Confidence Scores”. The thesis was carried out in the IML4E project (iml4e.org) funded by Business Finland in collaboration with Finnish company Basware and supervised by Professor Jukka K. Nurminen and D.Sc. Mikko Raatikainen.  

Mikko Raatikainen received in IEEE International Conference on Software Architecture (ICSA’24) the Most Influential Paper award, papers from CBSE 2014, WICSA 2014, and QOSA 2014. ICSA is a top-level conference (Jufo 2 in the Finnish classification system) that merged these other three conferences. The paper is a joint work by Vittorio Dal Bianco, Varvana Myllärniemi, Marko Komssi, and Mikko Raatikainen titled as “The role of platform boundary resources in software ecosystems: a case study.”
