About me

I am Essi Nuorivaara, PhD Researcher in Social Sciences at the Centre for Consumer Society Research (CCSR), the University of Helsinki. My research interest include sufficiency, alternative approaches to neoliberalism as well as sustainability transitions and transformations. My dissertation will be an outcome of the research project Enoughness in energy use: Sustainable and sufficient energy consumption in Finland (ENUSE) (PI Senja Laakso).

I am a member of a research network European Energy Poverty: Agenda Co-Creation and Knowledge Innovation (ENGAGER 2017-2021), The Finnish Society for Environmental Social Science (YHYS) and Helsinki Institute of Sustainability Science (Helsus).
