The reading group in philosophy of mathematics was established in September 2022. We meet approximately every other Tuesday at 2–4pm in the philosophy department coffee room (Metsätalo, 5th floor). We are currently reading the book Philosophy and Model Theory by Tim Button and Sean Walsh (2018). The book discusses a good handful of central questions in the philosophy of logic and mathematics, especially from the model-theoretic point of view.
The reading group currently includes various people from undergraduate students to experienced researchers. Everybody interested in philosophizing about mathematics and logic is warmly welcome to join us. It is possible to earn study credits by taking part in the reading group. If you are interested in joining us or want to know more, please contact Maria Hämeen-Anttila (firstname.lastname@example.org).
