Students’ work & teaching interventions

This page hosts 15 blog post written by student groups developing Home Economics teaching.

Students’ work is a significant dimension in an action-oriented, participatory approach to Home Economics. Significance relates to the fact that the students’ perspectives on life and well-being emerge through their work. In it, the students use text, hypertext, audio, visual and audio-visual techniques and narratives. In order to put their ideas together, the students work collaboratively in groups.

In group work, the multi-modal texts are edited before they get published and shared with wider audiences. The texts are shared by the groups themselves who have previously agreed to use the blog as medium of expression.

The students therefore play an integral role to the development of the Home4Action blog and its narrative, not only by contributing content but, as well, acting as co-authors and publishers.
