Kumpula JFC is a networking group aiming at providing the junior faculty staff with:
- the opportunity to network with each other;
- advance their career, within and beyond academia;
- promote their well-being;
- foster the connections between the early-career staff and the permanent faculty.

Heather Jameson – Acting Chair
I am a postdoctoral researcher in the Department of Chemistry at University of Helsinki. My research focuses on biomass relevant enzymes in new-to-nature reactions as part of the Deska Lab biocatalysis group. I received my PhD in New Zealand in Chemistry working with metal-organic frameworks. I also play an active role in the Internationals at University of Helsinki network.

I received my PhD degree in mathematics from the University of Helsinki and currently I am a postdoc at the Department of Computer Science of the University of Helsinki. My research focuses on data analysis, distributed systems, and edge intelligence. I would like to make contribution to boost the careers of early-stage researchers.
