My background is in population genetics and I got my PhD degree from the University of Oulu, Finland. My thesis was made in the lab of Outi Savolainen, on genetics of incipient speciation in Arabidopsis lyrata. Before coming to Helsinki, I worked in Umeå University, with Folmer Bokma, where I tried to gain better understanding on transmission ratio distortion seen in intraspecific crosses. Most recently, in Helsinki, I studied genetic basis of natural variation for oxidative stress in A. thaliana with Mikael Brosché.
