Hello!

I am Susanna, a doctoral candidate at the University of Helsinki, the Centre for Consumer Society Research. My research is situated in the realms of sociology (of science), science and technology studies and science policy research. My dissertation investigates the emergence and development of science, technology and innovation (STI) policy objectives and practices, and their relations to scientific knowledge production. In my work, I seek to understand what kinds of consequences established or emerging means of STI governance may have for the conditions, nature and structures of science as a social institution. I investigate these dynamics more specifically through an empirically grounded case study (interviews with science policy makers and researchers) on a Strategic Research funding instrument that was established at the Academy of Finland in 2015.
