Tapio Toivanen is first theatre pedagogy PhD graduated from the Theatre Academy of Helsinki (2002). He is interested in drama and theatre art-pedagogical research to foster a deeper, more extensive knowledge and understanding of teaching the drama and theatre arts to children and young people. He is one of the leading and eminent scientists of the drama education in Finland, who has written a number of drama education-related books and articles.
