VITRI in cooperation with Savannakhet University and National University of Laos organized an intensive training course on Research proposal writing course from 26-28th October, 2015 at Savannakhet University, Laos. This course was part of HEI ICI FORMEB project, which is funded by the Ministry for Foreign Affairs of Finland.

The participants were from National University of Laos, Savannakhet University, Souphanouvong University, Yezin Forestry University and Myanmar Forest Research Institute. Professor Markku Kanninen from University of Helsinki and Dr. Damrong Pipatwattanakul from Kasetsart University, Thailand were the trainers. Mr. Dipjoy Chakma from University of Helsinki was the coordinator for the training course.

Representing VITRI, Prof. Olavi Luukkanen (now for the third time) visited the project site at Dzivarasekwa, a township of the city of Harare, and participated in the planning of new tree nursery and agroforestry demonstration site planning activities.
