Laboratory facilities

The basis for forest soil science research is empirical data from experiments and surveys done in the field, in the greenhouse and in the laboratory. Hyytiälä forestry field station and Värriö field station are important for research in forest soil science. We also do research at sites throughout Finland and in cooperation with our international partners.

The laboratory of the Dept. of Forest Sciences enables basic pre-treatment and analysis of biological, chemical and physical characteristics of soil and plant material. In addition to our own equipment we utilise equipment of different departments in the Viikki campus and other cooperation partners.
