I am saddened by the news that a very important figure in the world of language education, Louis Porcher, has died. Porcher has influenced thousands of students and researchers. His contribution to renewing the field of the intercultural was important.

Véronique Lemoine, a doctoral student I co-supervised with Prof. Bertrand Daunay in France, has defended with success her doctoral thesis on the intercultural and autonomous learning in language education. Congratulations!
