Me

My name is Heidi Jauhiainen (nee Wikgren)  and I have a phd in Egyptology from the University of Helsinki. After defending my dissertation in 2019, I studied Computer Science and I have a bachelor of science degree from 2014.

I have worked in two Digital humanities projects. In the Finno-Ugric Languages and the Internet project (2013-2019), I was responsible for web crawling and the post-processing of texts to be published as sentence corpora. In the Semantic Domains in Akkadian Texts project (2016-2020), I was responsible for pre- and post-processing of machine-readable texts, for using digital methods to study texts, and for visualizing the results.

I am a member of the Academy of Finland Center of Excellence of Ancient Near Eastern Empires.

Since 2001, I have been in the Finnish Egyptologisen Society‘s Board of Directors. Between 2001 and 2007, I acted as the secretary of the society and since 2010 I have been the treasurer.
