INAR4 Helsinki, 8–9, 2017

The fourth meeting of the International Network of Address Research (INAR4) will take place at the University of Helsinki June 8–9, 2017. The conference is organized by the project ‘How to address? Variation and change in address practices´.

All kinds of topics related to addressing are welcome, but we especially encourage presenters to submit papers concerning (1) addressing and (im)politeness and (2) methodological issues. As in the earlier conferences, we welcome studies from various fields: historical linguistics, syntax, semantics and pragmatics, politeness studies, sociolinguistics, conversation analysis, language contact, and translation, as well as other disciplines (e.g. psychology, speech communication).

Abstract submission is closed.
