Devices that have seams or seals between different parts can be characterized to see the quality of the seam. And image of the seam, with the defects highlighted is provided. Defects down to 1µm diameter can be visualized in small devices. In larger devices (up to 100 mm size) defects of few tens of µm can be visualized.
