Johan Strang defended his doctoral dissertation in Philosophy titled  “History, Transfer, Politics – Five studies on the legacy of Uppsala philosophy” in a public examination at the University of Helsinki on 29 May 2010. Opponent was Professor Friedrich Stadler, University of Vienna, and custos Professor Jan von Plato.
