Prof. Ariel Novoplansky’s visit

Prof. Novoplansky will arrive tomorrow and stay in Helsinki until Saturday.

He will give a talk on Monday 13 September at 15:15 titled “Ecological implications of plant communication”. (INFO building, lecture hall 2)

Knowing his earlier work, and having heard from him about current work in his lab, this promises to be a very very interesting talk.

  1. Ariel Novoplansky’s visit was very important to us. We had discussions about future collaboration, and about plant communication, plasticity and stomata. The talk on Monday was great, and included very exciting yet to be published experimental results. Ariel also gave an informal presentation on his ideas about plasticity, which are very interesting and useful. We also had very enjoyable talks about other topics not related to science.
