ViPA Presents: Evening of Science at Coolhead!
The Viikki Postdoctoral Association present a new Evening of Science on 8th June from 6pm at Coolhead brewery (Koetilantie 1). The Evening of Science is a free-of-charge night of popular science talks, for anyone who is interested in science in general, and also anyone interested in what science researchers at the University of Helsinki do.Join us at Coolhead brewery to hear more about everything from genes to medical discoveries to plants and people! Our postdoctoral researchers from the University of Helsinki Vikki campus will share and discuss their latest research with you!

HYLO and ViPA present – Career seminar: Working Outside Academia

Viikki Postdoctoral Association ViPA arranges a career seminar event on Monday 15 May 2023 in collaboration with Helsingin yliopiston loimulaiset HYLO ry. Career stories from the corporate world: What to expect when moving from the academia to the private sector? What opportunities do companies offer to academics? The event will take place in Viikki Info Centre room K1088 (Viikinkaari 11, Helsinki) from 5 pm – 7 pm (snacks served 5 –5.30 pm). The language of the event is English.

We will have three speakers from bioscience companies:
* PhD Laura Cappelatti, Lead Science Activist, Origin by ocean
* PhD Filipe Chichorro, Data Scientist, Earthster Oy
* PhD Anni Niskakoski, Senior Geneticist, Bluprints Genetics
*and an address from Loimu Career Services / Suvi Liikkanen

There is a possibility for discussion after the presentations.

WILS and ViPA present – Start up seminar

We are delighted to organize a start up seminar with Women in Life Science in Helsinki (WILS) on 21st April, 14h00-16h00 in Think company Viikki (Latokartanonkaari 3).

We have invited Harriet Gullstén, Head of Viikki Innovations from Viikki Innovation Platform; Gaëlle Thomas who is behind the Binkiapp; Svetlana Sharifulina, PhD, Neuroscientist, DEIB advisor, CEO and founder of AiLobe Health; as well as Tuomas Pollari, Lead of Biosphere start up project, University of Helsinki to give us insights on how to develop our scientific innovations in entrepreneurship.

Career seminar for postdocs – Career in academia

Are you considering a career in academia? ViPA (Viikki Postdoctoral Association) organizes a career in academia seminar on the 26th of October 2022 14:00-15:00 at Think Company (Latokartanonkaari 3). The language of the event is English.

We have two group leaders from Viikki talking about their career in academia and giving valuable tips for you who are interested in as similar career.
