As part of the new cooperation phase with Mexico, VITRI’s staff visited the State of Oaxaca between 27 and 30 of May, alongside a delegation from CONAFOR’s Central Office. The objective of the visit was to meet representatives from different ejidos including traditional leaders and the forestry professionals in charge of preparing and implementing management plans. During the visit, there were also meetings with the local SEMARNAT, PROFEPA and CONAFOR officials as well field visits. The VITRI representatives included Prof. Markku Kanninen, Adrián Monge and Breck Miller.
