Networking Dinner!

To all my fellow colleagues from Women’s Networking,

A dinner had been proposed where we can have the opportunity to actually interact a little more. With that in mind Women’s Networking is organizing a dinner for the evening of our next Women’s’ networking event: next week Tuesday 4.4.2017, at 6:30pm, at the restaurant Memphis (https://www.raflaamo.fi/en/helsinki/memphis-kamppi) in Kamppi. (For those of you who are vegetarian, there are options available).

Event on Tuesday 4.4 at 2pm

Hi,

Welcome to our next Womens networking event next week Tuesday 4.4 at 2pm in the BI lounge!

This time we have invited Jaana Nylund from the university HR services to give a short talk about mentoring and how to start with it. After the talk we can discuss about setting up our own mentoring program as well as other topics if time permits. Please let us know if you are coming by answering this email.
Additionally, to get an overview of your mentoring needs and to be able to build our own mentoring program, we would ask you kindly to answer our Mentoring survey by next week Friday (7.4):
Looking forward to seeing all of you!
With best wishes,
Kira & Johanna

Meeting on Thursday 2.3 at 2pm

Hi,
Welcome to the new people on the list. We’re looking forward to seeing most of you on Thursday 2.3 at 2pm in the BI lounge for our power hour with Susana Garcia and Eija Jokitalo. For those of you who would like to come and haven’t told us yet, please do so today so that we can cater for all of you. If you remember and want to contribute please bring a euro for coffee on Thursday.
We will also bring up some developments on topics that we discussed at our last meeting if time permits.
With best wishes,
Kira & Johanna

Invitation

Dear Colleague,

We would like to invite you for coffee, at a networking session with other women scientists from the Institute of Biotechnology on Thursday January 12th at 2-3pm in the BI lounge. We would like to raise awareness of the mentoring needs of women in science.

We have contemplated for some time and decided that it would be benificial to have some additional peer support and mentoring for women to help them proceed in their scientific careers. Therefore, we would like to bring together female researchers from different stages of their careers within the life sciences field. We would like to start with the BI and if successful and supported, extend this in the future to bring together women from Viikki and Meilahti campuses.

We hope you will join us to discuss and develop this initiative and network. Also, feel free to distribute this invitation to your colleagues. All ideas, comments and suggestions are welcome! Please let us know by Monday January 9 if you will be able to attend.

With best Christmas wishes,

Johanna and Kira
