Markus Ojala
DSocSc, University lecturer

I work as a university lecturer at the Department of Social Research, University of Helsinki. I’m particularly interested in the role of media and publicity in international politics, the global political economy and its cultural dimensions, interaction between business and political elites, theories of the public sphere and mediatized conflicts. My publications cover issues related to global journalism, the Ukraine conflict, the Eurozone crisis and the European public sphere.

My doctoral study “The Making of a Global Elite: Global Economy and the Davos Man in the Financial Times 2001–2011” examines the public communication between global business and policy-making elites.
