Sujuvaa englannin kielen taitoa vaadittiin kaikilta, mutta esimerkiksi englanti valinnaisina opintoina ei ollut edellytys, jos kielitaitonsa saattoi todistaa muilla keinoin. Myös taito käyttää toimisto-ohjelmistoja jo ennen töihin tuloa on toimistotöissä plussaa.

- Iso pyörä on jyrännyt HumIT-kurssit: yliopisto ei enää tarjoa esimerkiksi Office- tai Photoshop-kurssitusta. Kannattaa siis tutkailla netistä löytyviä MOOC (ts. massive open online course) -kursseja.
