Elelin elokuun Pariisissa ja ajattelin jakaa muutamia kokemuksiani, jotka saattaisivat kiinnostaa muitakin ranskan opiskelijoita. Tässä asiasta kiinnostuneelle pieniä vinkkejä erityisesti opiskelua ja edullista elämää ajatellen. Jutun kuvat ovat kännykällä otettuja, joten pahoittelen niiden huonoa laatua.
1. Liikkuminen: ihanan kamala Vélib
Kyseessä on Pariisin kaupunkipyörä. Palveluun kirjautumisen jälkeen pyöriä saa käyttää käyttäjäliittymänsä mukaisesti lähtökohtaisesti puoli tuntia kerrallaan ilmaiseksi (sähköpyörällä eri hinnat). Näin siis periaatteessa, mutta käytännön osuudessa on vielä harjoittelemisen varaa. Siinä missä Helsingin kaupunkipyörät toimivat lähes poikkeuksetta, niin Pariisissa tilanne on toisinpäin. Kaupunkipyörää käyttäessä voit tuntea itsesti todella onnekkaaksi, jos onnistut
- löytämään aseman, jolla on pyöriä vapaana.
- löytämään aseman, jolla on pyöriä vapaana JA joka on käytössä.
- löytämään aseman, jolla on pyöriä vapaana JA joka toimii JA josta edes yksi pyörä suostuu irtautumaan telineestään.
Useimmiten saatoin hyvinkin löytää aseman, jolla ehdot 1 ja 2 täyttyivät, mutta sitten kohtasin rehellisesti sanottuna joka päivä tilanteen, jossa pyörä kyllä sanoi « GO », mutta teline ei antanut periksi. Siinä sai sitten mutista merdeä ja riuhtoa pyörää tuloksetta… Tällaisessa tapauksessa ei auta kuin etsiä toinen lähellä oleva asema.
Ilmeisistä vaikeuksista huolimatta suosittelen kuitenkin Vélibiä, sillä se on todella edullinen verrattuna metroon/bussiin ja puolen tunnin sisällä pääsee Pariisissa jo pitkälle. Erityisesti iltaisin kaupungissa on aivan taianomaista pyöräillä! Pariisista saa aivan eri fiiliksen valtavien boulevardien reunassa paikallisten lomassa pyöräillen tai pienillä kujilla seikkaillen. Varsinkin jos kokee saaneensa tarpeekseen metron loputtomista, ahtaista tunneleista ja aikaa vastaan taistelusta.
Erityisvinkkinä ranskan kielen kannalta: pyöräasemilla voi harjoituttaa ranskaa muiden turhautuneiden kanssa – unohtamatta säännöllistä asiakaspalveluun soittamista!
Ehkä tämänkin, aivan kuten niin monen muun Ranskanmaalla tapahtuvan asian kanssa, kyse on myös tuuripelistä?
Plussat:
Palvelu on edullinen. Pyöräily on helppoa, nopeaa, turvallista (erilliset kaistat ja autot antavat tilaa). Asemia on paljon.
Miinukset:
Asemat ja pyörät eivät aina toimi. Jollei kännykässä ole nettiä, toimivia asemia voi olla hankala löytää.
Hinta:
Navigo-kortin kanssa vuoden sitoutuminen 3,40 €. Itselläni oli käytössä vanha Navigo-korttini (Abonnement), mutta muuten tulee käyttää joko päiväpasseja (Pass) tai kotiin tilattavaa Vélib-korttia (Abonnement).

2. Museot
Alle 26-vuotiaille eurooppalaisille useimmat museot ovat ilmaisia, kun vilauttaa kuvallista henkkaria. Itse olen ylittänyt jo tämän MAHTAVAN tilaisuuden, mutta päätinpä kuitenkin mainita.
3. Kirjastot
Bibliothéque publique d’information du centre Pompidou (Bpi), 4e arrondissement
Kiva ja monipuolinen kirjasto, missä on hyvä opiskella ja kirjoittaa rauhassa. Nimensä mukaisesti kirjasto sijaitsee aivan Pariisin sydämessä, eli Centre Pompidoun yhteydessä. Huomioi, että sisäänkäynti käy rakennuksen takaa, Le Marais’n puolelta.
Plussat:
Mukanaan voi tuoda eväitä. Paljon lukupaikkoja. Todella hiljaista, vaikka paljon porukkaa. Kirjasto tarjoaa myös palveluita ilmaiseksi sellaisille, jotka haluavat mm. oppia ranskaa (ks. seuraava luku ranskan kielestä).
Miinukset:
Erityisesti kirjaston auetessa jono on usein masentavan pitkä (joka kulkee kuitenkin yllättävän nopeasti). Kirjastosta ei voi lainata kotiinsa kirjoja, lehtiä jne. Kirjasto aukeaa viikolla vasta klo 12.
Hinta:
Ilmainen sisäänkäynti. Toisessa kerroksessa on cafétéria, mistä saa pientä purtavaa ja kahvia (automaatista).
PS. Elokuussa kirjasto jakoi ilmaislippuja halukkaille Centre Pompidoun kaikkiin näyttelyihin. Luonnollisesti tartuin tilaisuuteen!

Bibliothèque nationale de France, le site Francois-Mitterand (BnF), 6e arrondissement
Tämä valtava kirjasto on hyvä paikka sellaiselle, joka haluaa satsata kokemukseensa tai on budjettimatkailijana joustavampi työrauhansa suhteen. Kirjastossa on paljon tilaa ja ilmaispaikat sijaitsevat käytävillä ja terassilla. Itse en testannut lukusaleja, sillä en halunnut maksaa niistä ja kärsivällisyys ei vain riittänyt odottamaan niiden aukeamista suurelle yleisölle. Kävin kirjastossa vain muutaman kerran, oikeastaan vain silloin kun satuin kortteliin tai tapasin tuttavia lähettyvillä.
Plussat:
Mukanaan voi tuoda eväitä. Kirjasto tarjoaa myös palveluita ilmaiseksi sellaisille, jotka haluavat mm. oppia kieliä (ks. seuraava luku ranskan kielestä). Vieressä on elokuvateatteri.
Miinukset:
Aivan likellä oleva kortteli ja kahvilat ovat melko kalliita ja tylsiä. Lukusaleihin pääsee ilmaiseksi vasta klo 17 jälkeen.

Ilmainen sisäänkäynti. Lukusalit maksullisia klo 17 saakka.

4. Ateliers de conversation en francais langue étrangère
Ainakin edellä mainituissa kirjastoissa järjestetään keskutelutilaisuuksia ulkomaalaisille, jotka halajavat syventää ranskan kielen taitojaan (myös muita kieliä tarjolla, kuten englantia ja espanjaa). Tilaisuuksia johtavat natiivit kirjaston työntekijät ja käsiteltävät aiheet vaihtelevat. Myös osallistujien taitotaso vaihtelee paljon (vaatimuksena niveau intermediaire) – mikä voi olla välillä turhauttavaa niin puhujalle kuin kuuntelijalle.
Kävin uteliaisuudesta tutustumassa tilaisuuksiin ja suosittelen lämpimästi. Molempien kirjastojen tyylit olivat hyvin erilaisia, mutta mielestäni pedagogisesti mielenkiintoisempi ja monipuolisempi oli BnF:n tilaisuus. Vaikkakin vetäjillä oli välillä vähän paha tapa unohtua monologiinsa, ainakin kaikista uskaliaimmat osallistujat saivat puheenvuoroja kunhan avasivat suunsa.
Oli myös hyvin mielenkiintoista keskustella ranskan kielestä siitä kiinnostuneiden kanssa sekä herkistyä erilaisille aksenteille. Tilaisuuksien ansiosta opin erityisesti syventämään yksittäisten sanojen tai ilmausten merkityksiä.

5. Elokuvaillat opiskelijabudjetilla: ilmaisnäytökset
Lost in Frenchlation (http://lostinfrenchlation.com)
Sattumalta törmäsin kyseiseen järjestöön, joka järjestää ranskalaisia elokuvailtoja ilmaiseksi Pariisissa– tosin englanninkielisillä tekstityksillä. Pääsin testaamaan ulkoilmanäytöstä, joka järjestettiin yhteistyössä 11. kaupunginosan kaupungintalon kanssa. Kokemus oli puitteiltaan hyvä, mutta elokuvaa en voi kehua (La Reine Margot). À chacun son goût… !
Toinen paikka nähdä elokuvia ilmaiseksi on pubit ja baarit. Luonnollisesti: consommation à recommander.

Ainakin La Méchanique Ondulatoire -baarissa järjestetään ajoittain ilmaisnäytöksiä. Kävin katsomassa amerikkalaisen, ranskaksi tekstitetyn, elokuvan Souviens-toi… l’été dernier. Tiedätkö mikä leffa mahtaa olla kyseessä?

6. Elokuvaillat opiskelijabudjetilla: opiskelija-alennus latinalaisessa korttelissa

Molemmat charmikkaat ja vanhaa aikaa henkivät elokuvateatterit sijaitsevat aivan Sorbonnen vieressä. Elokuvina monipuolisesti vähän kaikkea laidasta laitaan – painotuksinaan klassikot ja muutenkin aikaa kestävät tuotokset. Elokuussa tarjolla oli mm. japanilaista 1950- ja 60-lukujen klassikkoa sekä Hitchcockia.
Lippu on opiskelija-alennuksella 7-7,50 €. Opiskelijakorttia ei kukaan kysellyt…
7. Rock en Seine 2018
Elokuun viimeisenä viikonloppuna järjestettävä musiikkifestivaali, Rock en Seine, on varteenotettava elämys musiikkia fanittaville. Puitteista mainittakoon, ettei maisemaa ainakaan pahentanut Bois de Boulognen tuuheat metsät vieressä sekä siellä täällä seisoskelevat patsaat.
Sain ostettua lauantain lipun alennettuun hintaan Facebookin kautta (40 €), joten päätin vilkaista tapahtumaa. Hyvä kokemus kaiken kaikkiaan, vaikkakin edellisen illan absinttibaariin tutustuminen heikensi vähän vointia ja fiilistä. Festari oli hyvin järjestetty, ruoka- ja juomakojuja löytyi joka nurkasta ja hinnat olivat huomattavasti reilummat kuin sisarfestareillaan Suomessa. Esiintyjinä lauantaina mm. Anna Calvi, Charlotte Gainsbourg ja Liam Gallagher.

8. Iltapäivä turkkilaisessa kylpylässä
Jotain mitä en ollut ikinä kokenut Ranskassa oli kylpylät. Vähän rohkaistuani vietinkin sitten erään lauantai-iltapäivän turkkilaisessa kylpylässä. Taustatyön seurauksena löysin kylpylän, jossa oli arvioiden mukaan hyvä hinta-laatusuhde. Kyseessä on aivan Parc des Buttes-Chaumont’n kupeessa sijaitseva Hammam Medina Center.
Perussetti (44 €) sisältää sisäänpääsyn, vartalon kuorinnan sekä teen ja pienen itämaisen herkun. Aikaa kokemukseen menee aina puolestatoista tunnista eteenpäin, omasta fiiliksestä ja kuorintakäsittelyn odottelusta riippuen (vartalonkuorinnan tekee ammattilainen).
Kylpylässä pukeudutaan uima-asuun. Kuuman kiven, uima-altaan ja höyryhuoneen lisäksi sieltä löytyy jopa ”tavallinen” sauna. Hyvin kylvettyään elämyksensä voi kruunata loikoilemalla vielä hetken rentoutushuoneessa.

Great blog post. Some tips i would like to contribute is that computer system memory must be purchased if your computer can no longer cope with what you do with it. One can mount two random access memory boards of 1GB each, in particular, but not one of 1GB and one having 2GB. One should look for the maker’s documentation for the PC to ensure what type of storage is necessary.
