The Doctoral School in Humanities and Social Sciences (HYMY) welcomes all doctoral students, academic and administrative staff working with doctoral education to the fourth annual HYMY DAY on 22.11.2018, 14:00 – 18:00, Minerva-tori. This year’s theme is authorship.
14.00-16.30 Who is the author? Authorship issues in HYMY
“The questions concerning authorship in research publications are the most common challenges of research ethics faced by doctoral students. The practices of co- publication in terms of who are named as the authors of a research publication and as other contributors vary depending on the discipline concerned. If the research is conducted in a group, it is not always clear in which order names should be listed in the list of authors or contributors or whose names should be included. In such cases, a dispute may arise over authorship which is difficult to resolve after the event.”
In HYMY Day’s workshop the principles of how to agree on authorship in HYMY-disciplines are discussed and articulated.
16.30- 17.00 HYMY PRIZE
HYMY Prize is awarded to a person or a group of people that has worked meritoriously in promoting the objectives of doctoral education in HYMY. The winner of the HYMY prize is announced at the HYMY DAY. Who should get the prize this year? Tell us your opinion:
