Antti Lindfors (FT) on Suomen Akatemian tutkijatohtori (2020–2023). Hänen kiinnostuksen kohteitaan ovat ruumiilliset ja semioottiset itsen teknologiat, terapeuttiset kulttuurit, lingvistinen/semioottinen antropologia sekä (neuro)tieteen välittyminen ja popularisointi. Väitöskirjassaan (2019, Turun yliopisto) Lindfors keskittyi stand up -komiikkaan itsen esittämisen lajina tekstuaalisuuden, refleksiivisyyden ja samastuttavuuden toisiaan täydentävistä näkökulmista. Lindforsin nykyhetkinen tutkimus ”Plastic Passions: The Ethics and Somaesthetics of Self-Enhancement in Contemporary Biohacking” (Suomen Akatemia, No 331204) koskee biohakkerointia itsen optimoinnin käytäntönä; hänen ensimmäiset artikkelinsa aiheesta keskittyvät avantouintiin ja sen uudelleenvälittymiseen Wim Hof Methodissa. Lindfors on Eloren päätoimittaja, Lähikuvan toimitussihteeri sekä The European Journal of Humour Research -lehden toimitusavustaja.

Antti Lindfors (PhD) is an Academy of Finland post-doctoral researcher (2020–2023). His interests comprise of somatic and semiotic technologies of the self, therapeutic regime, linguistic/semiotic anthropology, and the remediation and popularization of (neuro)science. Methodologically, he is concerned with the overlaps and contact points between folklore studies, linguistic/semiotic anthropology, and cultural studies. In his doctoral dissertation (2019, University of Turku), Lindfors focused on stand-up comedy as a performance of self-presentation and an economy of relatability. His current project “Plastic Passions: The Ethics and Somaesthetics of Self-Enhancement in Contemporary Biohacking” (Academy of Finland, No 331204) deals with biohacking as an emergent ethos of self-optimization and biohackers as cultural and biotechnological mediators. Lindfors is the editor-in-chief of Elore, editorial secretary of Lähikuva, and editorial assistant in The European Journal of Humour Research.
