Mellunmäen moskeijan edustalla järjestettiin sunnuntaina 31.3.2019 vihapuheen vastainen tapahtuma. Uuden-Seelannin terrori-iskujen jälkeen moskeija on joutunut moneen otteeseen ilkivaltatekojen kohteeksi. Tapahtuman tarkoituksena oli oli herättää keskustelua rasismista ja viharikosten tutkinnasta Suomessa ja julkisesti tuomita vähemmistöjä vastaan tehtyjä viharikoksia. Tapahtumassa oli puhumassa mm. poliitikkoja, eri uskontokuntien edustajia ja toimittajia.

The University of Delaware held a public event on March 14 and 15, 2019 about the intersection of hate speech and freedom of speech. The event had a big list of keynote speakers and different kinds of panel discussions took place. The aim of the whole event was to encourage discussion about hate speech, freedom of speech, and to know where the line goes between them.
The Italian Academy of Columbia University organized an annual event on February 5 marking the Holocaust Remembrance Day. Since 2008, the event has been held at the Academy. This year, the theme of the event was online hate and coded communication on social media.
