The 24nd Helsinki Summer Seminar on International Law Lisbon, Kadi and After: The EU in the Global Legal Order 15-26.8.2011

With the entry into force of the Lisbon Treaty, the EU once again presses its claim to be a global power. Yet, the case-law of the ECJ in cases such as Kadi might be taken to mean that the EU is by no means ready to assume global responsibilities just yet. The 2011 Helsinki Summer Seminar on International Law aims to explore this tension with a view to assessing the place of the EU in the global legal order.
