Gambling, Science and Public Policy

A group of international scholars are meeting in Espoo, Finland 15-18.10.2014, taking the first step in the work with a new book that gathers knowledge on gambling policy and prevention.

The project strives to add to a series of publications that have given comprehensive and easily-available overviews of ways of tackling harms caused by alcohol and drugs: Alcohol No ordinary CommodityDrug Policy and the public Good. The first of these book  Alcohol Control Policies in a Public Health Perspective , the so called Purple book, was published in 1975.
