Rector Thomas Wilhelmsson has presented the head of the Helsinki University Library, University Librarian Ms. Kaisa Sinikara a silver medal. The university awards its distinguished staff members and partners with medals, available in bronze and silver. Very few persons, less than a hundred, have been awarded the silver medal, first introduced in 1957.
The Kaisa Sinikara Seminar, International Cooperation in Building the Future of Academic Library Services, was held on 3 June, 2013 at the Small Hall of the university. The seminar was arranged to honor Ms. Sinikara for her long and successful career, that spanned decades at the university.
