The LingDig Student Conference is an event where students from the University of Helsinki, within LingDig-related studies, gather to present research, to network and socialize.
The LingDig Student Conference aims to bring together students from LingDig and related fields and to provide an opportunity to showcase and discuss finished or ongoing MA thesis work, or to share research ideas, plans or proposals, which could benefit from the feedback of participants.
Although this website is in English, the conference will be as multilingual as presenters and attendants want to make it. Presenters are encouraged to present in any language(s) of their choice, and make their presentation understandable to their audience through interpretation, slides in English, or a translated handout, for example. (We cannot help with providing interpreters, unfortunately.) If your language is underrepresented in academic settings, now is an ideal time to proudly use it, even if it feels a bit awkward.
All LingDig students and students of LingDig-related subjects in the old system: especially, but not exclusively, General Linguistics, Language Technology, Phonetics, Finnish and Finno-Ugrian Languages, African and Asian Languages, as well as teachers and researchers affiliated with LingDig, are warmly invited to join the third edition of the LingDig Student Conference.
If you have any questions about the conference, please email us at lingdig-conference[at]helsinki.fi.
