Actual membership
You can join OSA by signing up as an actual member. Actual members can be students of any degree, postgraduate students or exchange students at the University of Helsinki. Actual members can vote during general meetings and run for Board positions. The annual membership fee for 2023 is 10 euros. You can also pay a half-year membership fee of 6 euros and join as a member for only the spring term.
If you are not a student at the University of Helsinki, you can still support our work! See the “Support Membership” section below.

Support Membership
If you’re a teacher, researcher, administrator, educational professional, or simply interested in education, and you want to support the activities of OSA, you can now become a support member! As a support member, you receive attending and speaking privileges at the General Meetings of the association. At the same time, you support our work, such as the Changing Education Multimedia Platform, educational projects, seminars, and other events. You can find out more about our activities here.
Follow these two steps to become a support member of OSA:
- Sign up as a support member via this form, it only takes a minute!
- Pay the support membership fee.
- The supporting membership fee is divided into three categories: 20 euros/30 euros/50 euros. Supporting members can decide themselves which category they want to pay. Support memberships are valid for the calendar year. Supporting members paying the fee in 2021 will have a valid support membership for the duration of 2022. IMPORTANT: supporting members receive the same rights irrespective of the fee category they choose.
