Congratulations to Wasiq Silan

Congratulations to Wasiq Silan (also known as I An Gao) for being selected to the Helsinki Collegium for Advanced Studies. She will be conducting a project entitled “Care in relationships: Re-centering Indigenous Older Women’s Voices” there!

Wasiq Silan (BA National Taiwan University; MA University of Helsinki) did her PhD at the Doctoral Programme in Political, Societal and Regional Change at the Faculty of Social Sciences, University of Helsinki. Her research concerns how long-term care system accommodates aging Indigenous Peoples’ cultural and self-government claims, using Taiwan and Finland as cases.

 


Julie Yu-Wen Chen just published an open access paper in Globalizations. The article is entitled Reconciling Different Approaches to Conceptualizing the Glocalization of the Belt and Road Initiative Projects. She gave a presentation on this paper in the Institute for Security & Development Policy in Stockholm lately. You can find the recording here.
