Outsourcing Elderly Care w/ Anna Tarasenko

In this second interview of the series, I speak with Anna Tarasenko about outsourcing of elderly care to private companies in Russia. We discuss Russia’s recent elderly care reforms, how outsourcing operates in the country, and issues surrounding regulation in this sphere.

Anna Tarasenko is Associate Professor (Docent) at the Department of Political Science and International Affairs, at the National Research University Higher School of Economics (St. Petersburg). She is also a visiting researcher at the Aleksanteri Institute, University of Helsinki.

Anna’s latest work, ‘Outsourcing social services to NGOs in Russia: federal policy and regional responses’ (Europe-Asia Studies), co-authored with Linda Cook and Elena Iarskaia-Smirnova, explores the discussion theme further.
