An increase in retirement age suggests a longer working life. But does Russia’s pension reform of 2018 have the potential to exacerbate inequalities in other spheres of life in Russia? Drawing on my thesis research, academic literature, policy papers and Russian media articles, this report aims to illustrate how pension reform could exacerbate social and economic inequalities in Russia.
