Studying

Geoinformatics is one of the fields of specialization in geography. The Department of Geosciences and Geography provides yearly teaching in geoinformatics for some 50 credit units. Teaching is available from basics to advanced methods of GIS and remote sensing, not forgetting special applications and recent development in the field of geoinformatics.

Students may also take courses provided by other departments (such as computing science, forest sciences, etc) and with the Flexible Study Right JOO-agreement also from other universities. Usually, students educated in geoinformatics are well employed both in the public and private sectors.

Information on courses is available in WebOodi. Teaching is organised both in Finnish, English or Swedish so pay attention to the language in advance.
