The influence that teachers have on learning comes out clearly when learners talk and write about their memories and histories. There are descriptions of teachers who care, teachers who are enthusiastic, teachers who can explain difficult things, and teachers who give helpful and motivating feedback. Good memories of teachers are closely connected to good learning experiences. It is probably a question of the creation of a genuine dialogue between teacher and pupil, and both sides are responsible for this.
