Kätilö ist ein finnischer Kriegsfilm, der sich auf den Roman Kätilö von Katja Kettu basiert. Der Roman ist im Jahr 2011 publiziert und der Film vier Jahren später im Jahr 2015. Der Roman und der Film haben beide Preise gewonnen: Der Roman beispielsweise Runeberg-Preise und der Film hat den Beste Film -Preis in International Historical Film Festival gewonnen.
Der Film erzählt über eine Hebamme, die in Lappland wohnt und dort als Hebamme während Lapplandkriegs (September 1944-April 1945) arbeitet. Während der Zeit waren SS-Truppen in Finnland stationiert, und die Hebamme verliebt sich in einen SS- Soldaten. Der Soldat arbeitet in einem Arbeitslager in Titokva als Fotografen und die Hebamme will auch in demselben Lager arbeiten, und bekommt einen Job als Krankenschwester in dem Lager.
Der Soldat hat früher auch in anderen Arbeitslagern arbeitet und wegen des Traumas manchmal zittert. Die Hebamme hilft der Soldat mit dem Symptom, weil sie verliebt ist, und ihre Beziehung vertieft sich. Während der Arbeit als Krankenschwester, sieht auch die Hebamme die Grausamkeit des Arbeitslagers. Später hat Finnland Frieden mit Sowjetunion gemacht, und die SS-Soldaten sind natürlich nicht zufrieden und sie müssen schnell nach Deutschland fahren.
Die sovjetuniotische Soldaten nehmen den SS-Soldaten fest und die Hebamme reist zurück zu einer verlassenen Hütte, wo sie und der SS-Soldat früher zusammen schnell besucht haben. Die Hebamme wartet dort auf den SS-Soldaten. Später flüchtet der SS- Soldat und kommt zu der Hütte, wo die Hebamme auf ihm erwartet und jetzt Schwanger ist. Zum Schluss bekommen die Hebamme und der SS-Soldat einander.
Die Hauptthemen des Filmes sind Liebe und Krieg. Die Liebe zwischen die Hebamme und der Soldaten ist so stark, dass die möglichen gewaltigen Taten des Soldaten während des Kriegs, können die Liebe der Hebamme nicht anhaben. Der Film ist ein Farbfilm, aber die Stimmung und die Farbenwelt des Filmes ist ziemlich Grau. Viele Szenen sind in dunkle Raumen oder während Abend oder Nacht gefilmt. In den Film gibt es auch Rückgriffen, die schwarzweiß sind. Die Rückgriffe sind normalerweise Erinnerungen des Soldaten an den Krieg.
Lapplandkrieg ist ein vergessener Krieg, obwohl er auch ein großes Ereignis in Lappland war. In Finnland wird mehr über Finnischer Bürgerkrieg, Winterkrieg oder Fortsetzungskrieg diskutiert und die bekanntesten Kriegsfilme und -romane des Finnlands auch basieren auf diesen Kriegen. Diese Tatsache macht auch den Film Kätilö interessanter. NS-Truppen haben Verbrannte Erde -Taktik in Lappland benutzt und diese Taktik war auch Präsent in den Film. Das Ziel dieser Taktik ist einfach alles zerstören (Strassen, Brücken, Fabriken, Häuser, Lebensmittelvorräte und so weiter) während einer Zurückziehung einer Armee. In den Film spielt auch das Gefangenenlager eine große Rolle, und meiner Meinung nach sind auch die Läger in Finnland und die Beteiligung der Finnen ein wenig diskutiertes Thema.
Die Hauptspielern des Films sind in Finnland sehr bekannte Schauspielern. Rezeption des Films war positiv. Eine finnische Film Magazin, Episodi, hat den Film mit vier Sternen bewertet und den Film erhaltet danke von Balance zwischen schöne Landschaften des Lapplands und manchmal raue Leben in Nord. Den Film Kätilö könnte ich wegen des interessanten Blickwinkels des Filmes empfehlen: Lapplandkrieg, die Zusammenarbeit von Finnen und NS-Soldaten in dem Gefangenenlager und natürlich Liebe. Der Film war nicht nur ein gewaltiger Kriegsfilm, sondern enthaltet auch Drama. Dieser Film ist besonders interessant für Germanistikstudenten in Finnland, weil die Zusammenarbeit von Finnland und NS-Deutschland in dem Film präsent sind.
