Opening hours on Monday April 30th:
– Main Library, Kaisa House 8 a.m. – 6 p.m. (customer service 10 a.m. – 6 p.m.)
– Kumpula, Meilahti and Viikki Campus Libraries 8 a.m. – 4 p.m. (customer service 10 a.m. – 4 p.m.)
On Tuesday, May 1st, all library locations and learning centres are closed.
There is no night use in the Learning Centre Aleksandria between 5:45 p.m. on Monday, April 30th and 4 p.m. on Tuesday, May 1st.
During Easter the libraries are closed from Good Friday March 30th until Easter Monday April 2nd, 2018.
On Maundy Thursday (March 29th), the libraries are open as follows:
– Kaisa House 8 a.m. – 6 p.m (customer service 10 a.m. – 6 p.m).
– Kumpula, Terkko and Viikki 8 a.m. – 4 p.m (customer service 10 a.m. – 4 p.m).
Learning Centres Aleksandria and Minerva are open 8 a.m. – 5:45 p.m. on Maundy Thursday. Aleksandria can be accessed with magnetic key during Easter (from 7 a.m. until 1 a.m.).
From March 4th until April 29th the Main Library will be open from 11 am to 5 pm on Sundays, with the exception of Easter holidays (from Friday March 30th to Monday April 2nd), during which period the building will be closed.
Entrance on Sundays is from Fabianinkatu or by lift from Kaisaniemenkatu (1st floor) or by lift from Helsinki University metro station (floor K1).
Finland’s most popular learning environment works as self-service library
On Sundays Kaisa House will function as a self-service library. The collections and facilities are available to customers on all floors. The customer service on the 3rd floor is closed.
You can pick up your reservations as self-service from the open shelves at the service desk. Should you have problems with using the library or the self-service facilities, phone service will be available.
In case you need a guest login to the University network or copy cards (e.g. for printing), you have to get these earlier in the week.
Learning Centre Minerva is closed on Tuesday 19th of December due to the washing of the carpeting. We are sorry for the inconvenience.
The library has exceptions to regular opening hours on All Saints’ Day:
On Friday November 3th
– Main Library Kaisa House open 8 am – 6 pm, customer service 10 am – 6 pm
– Kumpula Campus Library open 9 am – 4 pm, customer service 10 am – 4 pm
– Meilahti Campus Library Terkko open 8 am – 8 pm, customer service 10 am – 4 pm
– Viikki Campus Library open 9 am – 4 pm, customer service 10 am – 4 pm
– Learning Centre Aleksandria 8 am – 5:45 pm
– Learning Centre Minerva 8 am – 5:45 pm.
Libraries and learning centres are closed on Saturday November 4th and Sunday November 5th.
From October 8th until November 26th the Main Library will be open from 11 am to 5 pm on Sundays, with the exception of the weekend of All Saints’ Day 4.-5.11. during which the whole building will be closed.

Summer time is coming to an end and the new Autumn opening hours will start on August 28th 2017.
Self-Service Library on all Campuses
As of Autumn, in addition to the Main Library at Kaisa House, all the campus libraries will function as Self-Service Libraries outside of the customer service hours. The campus libraries will function as Self-Service Libraries on weekday mornings from 8 to 10 and evenings from 17 onward (except Kaisa House from 19).
Customer service personnel is not present during self-service hours. The Library provides user instructions to device and premises in the premises and on the web site. In the Main Library Kaisa House you can use the service phone on the 3rd floor counter to contact the staff if you face problems with the check-out or return machines.
