Erik Bruun’s exhibition in Viikki Info Centre Korona

Erik Bruun is a Finnish graphic designer whose work over the period of 60 years is on display in Info Centre Korona.

Bruun has designed over 500 posters, dozens of stamps, brochures, ex-libris signs, banknotes, company and society logotypes and book lay-outs. He has made innovations and creative solutions for different walks of life.

The well-known posters from 1950 and 1960 are timeless and part of common memory in Finland.

In addition to city and cultural themes, nature has played an important role in Bruun’s production. A classic among animal themes is Saimaa ringed seal (1974) which also became the symbol of the Finnish Association for Nature Conservation.

Erik Bruun has participated in many domestic and international competitions with success and during decades he has gained acknowledgement in many fields. For example he has been granted the title of Professor, he has received Pro Finlandia medal (2007) and most recently Helsinki Design Award (2012).
