New eBook collections – Cambridge Books Online

The library has acquired 543 new eBooks published  by Cambridge University Press. Cambridge Books Online can be found in Nelli, and the eBooks are also catalogued in  Helka.

These recently acquired eBook titles represent various scientific fields  – also some high demand text books on City Center Campus are included –  and can be browsed by subject in Cambridge Books Online. Subjects are:

New eBooks from Elsevier

The library has acquired 411 new eBooks on various scientific fields published in 2012-13 by Elsevier. The eBooks most used during the year will be acquired permanently in the end of the year. The books can be found through HELKA.

The library also acquired eBooks published in  2011 by Elsevier: these eBooks were accessible through Helka during the last year and the books most used  were acquired by the library (see titles here).

Trial: Iskusstvo Kino ~ 14.2.2013

Iskusstvo Kino is an illustrated journal dealing with questions of the theory and criticism of the art of the cinema. The journal runs articles on the history and theory of the cinema, film reviews, scenarios, and articles on the work of masters of the art.

Trial: Stalin Digital Archive ~ 14.2.2013

Stalin Digital Archive is the result of collaboration between the Russian State Archive of Social and political History (RGASPI) and Yale University Press. Stalin Digital Archive (SDA) provides access to material’s from Stalin’s personal archive and monographs on the history of Soviet and international communism (25 volumes of Annals of Communism-series).

Highlights include foreign policy before and during World War II, communications during the Great Purges, information on relations with Western leaders and intellectuals etc.

Visitors to the site are able to search, browse, and view the resources and the “About SDA” sections without the need for any log-in credentials. Users within authenticated IP ranges should be able to register their own personal MySDA accounts, and thus access the Document Viewer and MySDA areas of the site. When a user in an authenticated IP range creates his or her own MySDA profile, s/he is automatically sent a confirmation email with a password and a link for a one-time log in.
