Library’s opening hours during and after the Midsummer

From the Midsummer, Friday June 21st on, Kumpula, Meilahti and Viikki Campus Libraries will be closed. Main Library Kaisa House and Learning Centre Aleksandria will also have shorter opening hours. From June 24th to August 25th Kaisa House is open 8:00-18:00 (customer service 10:00-18:00) on weekdays. On Saturdays, the library is closed.

Opening hours at Midsummer

Thursday, June 20

  • Main Library Kaisa House is open 8-18, customer service 10-18.
  • Learning Centre Aleksandria is open 8-17:45.
  • Learning Centre Minerva is open 8-15:45.
  • Kumpula, Meilahti and Viikki Campus Libraries are open 8-16, customer service 10-16.

At Midsummer, June 21-23, the learning centres and all library locations are closed. Aleksandria can be accessed with magnetic key during Midsummer (from 7 a.m. until 1 a.m.).

Summertime begins at the campus libraries on May 20th. Check the opening hours!

Opening hours at the Kumpula, Meilahti and Viikki campus libraries in the summer are:

  • 20.5.-20.6. Mon-Fri 8 a.m. – 4 p.m. (Meilahti beginning on 27.5.), customer service 10 a.m. – 4 p.m.
  • 21.6.-4.8. closed
  • 5.8.-25.8. Mon-Fri 8 a.m. – 4 p.m., customer service 10 a.m. – 4 p.m.

Long loan periods will start on May 23th for books with a 28 day loan period, 6.6. for 14 day loans and 18.6. for two day loans. These elongated loan periods do not affect books loaned from the Main Library Kaisa House, as it is open whole the summer.

When the campus libraries are closed, you can contact the Main Library Kaisa House customer service at the 3rd floor which is open with regular opening hours until Midsummer. Starting on 24.6. the customer service is open Mon-Fri 10 a.m. – 6 p.m.
