Goals:

• improving your knowledge on online learning by reading online learning related materials
• enlarging vocabulary in the field of online learning and your own work
• improving reading techniques in English
• improving summary and article writing in English
• practicing oral skills f2f and online
• improving self-directed learning skills

Target group:

• all support personnel who feel they need to practice their English skills

Course contents and schedule:

• Participants are responsible for finding articles and other reading materials on online learning /related to their work, and summarising the contents of the articles read  to the rest of the group.
• Students are provided with information on reading and writing techniques, as well as vocabulary building.
• Students are responsible for their own learning, the facilitator can give tips and hints to students on how to continue their studies, but mainly students are self-directed learners.
• Two or three f2f meetings can be arranged where students report on their progress and present what they have been working on, as well as ask questions from each other or the facilitator.
• first meeting: 5.2; the other two meeting times will be negotiated in the first meeting, but we’ll meet approx. in 3-4 weeks’ interval
• studying in this “course” is target-oriented (the idea is to improve at least on one of the goals), but not too serious.
