There are many vibrant events happening during the spring semester in the Helsinki region. With Shrove Tuesday, May Day and Restaurant Day being perhaps the most popular, they are a great way to experience community life in this small metropolis.
The year 2015 also marks 150 years since the birth of the great Finnish composer, Jean Sibelius (1865-1957). To mark the anniversary, numerous special events will be held in Helsinki in 2015.
