Green Cafe – Delicious and climate friendly food on Restaurant Day 16.11.2013!

As part of our Reduce a Ton! carbon emissions reducing campaign the University of Helsinki challenged the associate Helsinki city manager Pekka Sauri to share his seasonal vegetarian recipe. We have now reached the goal of vowing among students to reduce more than 400 000 kg of carbon emissions and it is time to cook!

By using Sauri’s recipe, UH and HYY are organizing a restaurant – Green Cafe – for a day on the next Restaurant day. All profit will be donated to HYY development cooperation projects.

On the menu: Mushrooms with barley and oven-cooked root vegetables, vegan crêpes, coffee and tea.
The venue: Uusi ylioppilastalo at Mannerheimintie 5 A.

Welcome!

Restaurant day, or Ravintolapäivä, is a success story of how normal citizens can make their city more fun. The first Restaurant day was held in Helsinki in 2011 and since then it has spread to all corners of the world. The previous Restaurant day was celebrated in over 220 cities in 35 countries! Join us and take part in Your University’s own restaurant!

Join our Facebook event for Green Cafe and see what else is being cooked at the Restaurant Day website.

P.S. We are only a few tons away from reaching our final reduction goal, the savings of 500 000kgs of CO2-emissions! To contribute, click to Climate info and make your savings!
