Finland – A rock music fan’s paradise

1617399_784426741586965_108611924_oMany people first become interested in Finland because of music, predominantly rock music. Did you know that most people studying Finnish language abroad do it due to their love of Finnish music? Just imagine that you could live in the same city as your favourite band, go to different concerts and enjoy top education at the same time ;).

Helsinki, the capital and biggest city of the country with the highest rate of hard rock bands per capita in the world, offers a lot of concerts and gigs around the year.

Being a fan of rock and metal music, I regarded it as my duty to go to a real Finnish metal concert.  So I did last April. That was such a blast! – There will be definitely more to come.

But don’t worry if you’re not a fan of metal or rock, the Finnish music scene has a lot more to offer: ranging from iskelmä (schlager), pop, hip hop to reggae and tango,  just to mention some genres. It’s best if you immerse into the Finnish music landscape yourself and find out what’s your favourite Finnish band.

Locations, events, videos, pics: Hel Yeah! Keeps you in the rhythm of Helsinki.
