Funded by the Teachers’ Academy (University of Helsinki). Funding period is 2021 – 2023. The Teachers’ Academy funds totally 50 000 € for developing teaching and learning in the department as well as Academy member’s personal professional development.

Funded by “Lähiöohjelma 2020-2022“. Funding period is 1.9.2020 – 31.12.2022. External funding >1 million EUR. Consortium partners are University of Helsinki, Geography & University of Jyväskylä, Social sciences in sports. Closely together with the Digital Geography Lab, University of Helsinki.

Technological and Societal Innovations to Cultivate Critical Reading in the Internet Era (CRITICAL)

Funded by the Strategic Research Council (SRC) together with the Academy of Finland. Funding period is 1.10.2020 – 30.9.2023 and the possible second phase 1.10.2023 – 30.9.2026. The University of Helsinki and PhD Petteri Muukkonen lead the WP 5 in the consortium (work package’s decision number 335730; consortium’s decision number 335625). Total external funding for the work package 5 is >1 million EUR (the first phase > 600 000 € and the possible second phase >400 000 €). And the total external funding for the whole consortium is ~5.7 million EUR. The consortium partners are Tampere University (leader), University of Jyväskylä, University of Oulu, and University of Helsinki. This consortium is funded from the Strategic Research Council’s and the Academy’s call “Information literacy and evidence-informed decision-making (LITERACY)“. For decisions see the link.
