The project aims to improve the skills and competences of teacher educators in higher education in Peru with a new model for lifelong learning based on research. Best practices of the Finnish research-based teacher training will be analyzed critically and adapted to the Peruvian context.

The central action is to train teacher educators in regional universities of RPU (Peruvian Network of Universities) that in turn will apply the new knowledge in their own work and train teachers’ pedagogical mentors.

Expected results:
• A quality model piloted at the national level for the teachers’ in-service training in higher education institutions in Peru.
• Peruvian Network of Universities and other partners that provide in-service training to teachers. The project strengthens the network of universities, both among the universities and with schools.
