ORPHEUS 2007, Helsinki, Finland, Sept 6-8, 2007

All representatives of medical schools, schools of public health and
research institutes involved in PhD programs in medicine and public
health are invited to attend

The Third Conference on Biomedical and Health Science Doctoral
Training in Europe (ORPHEUS 2007) to be held in Helsinki, Finland,
September 6-8, 2007 (http://www.congrex.fi/orpheus2007/)

The ORPHEUS 2007 conference will focus on PhD training and clinical
medicine. As a main topic it will be organized in cooperation with
Association of Medical Schools of Europe (AMSE)
(http://www.amse-med.eu/).

In the light of Bologna process and the need to harmonize and improve
our cooperation the following questions will be addressed:

1. When should MDs do their PhD and what should the studies include?

2. What is the role of clinical PhD programs and graduate (doctoral) schools?

3. How to combine PhD studies and clinical specialization?

4. How to increase mobility and cooperation between the clinic and
basic science laboratories?

5. How to increase mobility and cooperation between different
institutions and European countries?

The participants are invited to write an abstract or a short
communication on their subject of interest related to the above
questions from their own perspective.
