#KohtiRioa – Matkalla!

kohtirioa_koneessaBlogin kirjoittamishetkellä 30.8.2016 olemme kirjaimellisesti matkalla Rioon. Istumme maalipallojoukkueen kanssa KLM:n lennolla Suomesta Amsterdamin kautta Brasilian Rio de Janeiroon. Paralympialaisten avajaisiin on kahdeksan päivää.

Viimeisimmässä blogissa olimme juuri lähdössä Ruotsiin viimeiseen valmistavaan turnaukseen vuoden pääkisoja varten. Elokuun alussa pelasimme Malmössä sekä muutamaa Rio-joukkuetta, että myös paralympialaisten ulkopuolelle jääneitä joukkueita vastaan, kuten Japania ja Tanskaa. Ruotsin turnauksesta kokoonpanostamme puuttui kaksi ykköskentän pelaajaa ja se tietysti vaikutti osaltaan turnauksen heikkoon menestykseen. Ylipäätään meillä oli alussa henkisiäkin haasteita, kun peli ei lähtenyt kulkemaan. Kuitenkin kolme viimeisintä ottelua voitimme ja siitä on hyvä lähteä jatkamaan paralympialaisissa, johon kaikki on ladattu. Puolustamme vuoden 2012 paralympiakultaa.

Olemme viimeiset viikot käyttäneet terävyyden ja nopeuden nostattamiseen sekä tietysti hioneet joukkuepelaamista kahdella valmistavalla viikonloppuleirillä ja viikkotreeneissä. Kuuden pelaajan joukkueemme on kunnossa ja henki kohdillaan. Lentomatka on huomattavasti helpompi yhtenäisenä joukkueena ja rennosta ilmapiiristä ja huumorista voi päätellä, että nauttimaan ollaan menossa. Sehän on onnistuneen urheilusuorituksen suola.

Riossa vielä ennen 7. päivän paralympiakisojen avajaisia pidämme muutamat joukkuetreenit. Saadaanpa tuorein tuntuma palloon. Se on selvä, että luppoaikaa myös riittää ja tärkeää on käyttää se hyvin: valmistautuen ja leväten mutta hauskaa pitäen. Kun joukkueemme on hyvällä fiiliksellä, kaikki on mahdollista!
